We focus on business retention and expansion, bringing investment into the county and supporting quality of life initiatives. As such, Economic Development Week (EDW) - May 6th to May 10th - is an exciting time for everyone in the economic development community. EDW, established by the International Economic Development Council, highlights the importance of economic development in our region and across the globe. We are eager to celebrate and recognize the efforts of our numerous partners in driving the growth of our many communities.

Economic development is crucial to Washington County's growth and prosperity. It encompasses various initiatives, from attracting new businesses to supporting existing ones, creating new job opportunities, and enhancing our community's overall quality of life.

“Washington County offers incredible business opportunities and a high quality of life through the unique combination of remarkable outdoor amenities and a prime location to the economic centers of Minneapolis and St. Paul,” said Chris Eng, Economic Development Director at Washington County CDA. "We believe that economic development is key to building a vibrant, sustainable community, and the efforts of our collaborative partners foster a supportive environment to drive our region's growth."
